Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse:
An Immersive Online Experience
Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse: An Immersive Online Experience was a collaboration with two colleagues, Glenn Stutzky and Keesa Johnson. The experience immerses participants in a narrative-driven simulation exploring survival, coexistence, and moral challenges. Set in a world where a catastrophic event triggers a zombie pandemic, participants navigate complex landscapes, with zombies symbolizing societal collapse. Through platforms like X, Facebook, and YouTube, the experience creates a dynamic, real-time atmosphere that blurs fiction and reality. Integrated as "Survivor Groups," participants confront both external threats and internal group dynamics, revealing the sociocultural challenges of crisis.
As the project’s Art Director, Christopher led the creative vision and execution, ensuring each element supported an immersive and cohesive experience. This innovative project received national and international media attention on ABC, NBC, Fox, and more, and attracted interest from AMC’s The Walking Dead. Awarded six Gold and Silver American Advertising Awards, it demonstrates the transformative potential of emerging media arts for engaging with complex societal issues.
