Surviving the Coming

Zombie Apocalypse:

Disasters, Catastrophes, and Human Behavior

Surviving the Coming Zombie Apocalypse: Disasters, Catastrophes, and Human Behavior is an immersive online experience created by a team consisting of Glenn Stutzky, Christopher Irvin, and Keesa Johnson. This narrative-driven simulation places participants in a world ravaged by a zombie pandemic, where survival, coexistence, and moral dilemmas take center stage. Zombies symbolize societal collapse, as participants navigate complex landscapes and confront both external threats and internal group dynamics through "Survivor Groups."

Leveraging platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and YouTube, the project blurs the line between fiction and reality, creating a dynamic, real-time atmosphere. As Art Director, Christopher Irvin led the creative vision and execution, ensuring every element supported an immersive and cohesive experience.

This innovative project garnered national and international media attention, with features on ABC, NBC, Fox, and more. It also attracted interest from AMC’s The Walking Dead and earned six Gold and Silver American Advertising Awards. By exploring societal challenges through emerging media arts, "Surviving the Coming Zombie Apocalypse: Disasters, Catastrophes, and Human Behavior" demonstrates the transformative power of immersive experiences to engage with complex issues.
