I am presently an Instructional Designer at Michigan State University. Utilizing my background in both design and the visual arts, I creatively problem solve and design original content related to the university’s mission of teaching and learning. I emphasize, in both teaching and in practice, the importance of finding new and innovative approaches to actively engage
learners both in and out of the classroom. In recent years, I have designed and implemented multiple award-winning courses that promoted learning by intersecting ideas from academia, gaming, and pop culture. In my professional experience, I have touched every level of a course, from developing new learning concepts to facilitating student learning.
I enjoy creating experiences that go beyond just the course content by establishing learning communities that encourage critical thought and diverse perspectives. I am a native of Denver, Colorado. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. I completed my Master of Fine Arts at the Art Institute of Boston.
